| Likes |
Well-balanced 2lb 8 oz bats, team players, marlborough sauvingon blanc, exploring/walking in Australia, players who walk (pros excluded - they should never walk as it is their job), George the Beagle when he behaves |
| Dislikes |
Kids using bats that are too heavy for them, gassy warm cider, small wine glasses, players/hypocrites who moan/sledge when someone doesn't walk when they don't do it themselves, Scottish weather, cricket teas without Mr. Kipling, Greg Chappell who stole my and Rob's idea for a cricket shop in north Sydney (- well ok, granted, he had the idea too), George the Beagle disrupting cricket week with his tennis ball thievery. |
| Favourite ground |
SCG; Grange Loan; East Drive, Largo; and Freuchie, (as I have played there 5 times and always got a fifty!) |
| Least favourite ground |
Easy, Boghall; no disrespect to West Lothian, as it is a lovely ground with a good wicket, but I have never, ever scored any runs there, and I must have played at least 14-15 times since I was an under 13. I think my best score is 13 and the rest are single figures, mainly ducks or 1-2. I must average about 1.6 there. The last time the 2's played there I let Charlie Paterson captain and went to watch the firsts play instead. |
| Best on field performance |
143 not out for Carlton 2's, league 2003 |
| Best off field performance |
Does football count? - Referees' player of the tournament, European Lawyers Football Cup, Algarve 2007; - if not, FINALLY training George the Beagle to stop stealing other dogs/ children's tennis balls. |
| Performance most want to forget |
Any of my 15 visits to West Lothian - take your pick |
