Carlton Juniors' Hall of Fame

Welcome to the Carlton Juniors' Hall of Fame. Each time one of our juniors puts in an outstanding performance for a Carlton senior or junior side we'll post the details here.

July 12th - Neil Irvine-Hess

As a tall fast bowler, 14 year-old Neil has proved a handful to batsmen in junior cricket and in Division 8 of the East League. When he received his call up to the Carlton 3rd XI for their match at Heriots in Division 5 the question was: how would Neil deal with the challenge set by bowling to better batsman?

Neil answered the question emphatically with a fiery opening spell in which he picked up three wickets, before returning to pick up the final wicket. His final analysis of 6.1 overs, 1 maiden, 4 for 26 marked a 'coming of age' performance and earns him a well deserved place in the Carlton Juniors Hall of Fame.

June 14th - Craig Everett

While there has never been any doubt that the quality (and quantity) of Craig Everett's chat is of senior cricket standard, Saturday saw the first serious evidence of his cricketing talents on the adult stage as he hit a majestic unbeaten 42 for the Carlton 4th XI in their match at Dunfermline.

Not content with top scoring for his side and polishing his batting average, Craig then showed the continued improvement in his wicket-keeping with a fine display of glovework in increasingly difficult conditions. Well done Craig!

May 30th - Fraser Allardice

Playing for our senior 4th XI in their away match v Kismet 2s, Fraser opened the bowling and in two spells turned in the remarkable figures of 5 for 6 off his eight overs.

Not content with that, he also ran out an opposition batsman and then finished on 6 not out as Carlton won the match by 8 wickets.

May 3rd - Gair Currie and Chayank Gosain

First up, are Under 15 Gair Currie and Under 13 Chayank Gosain.

Representing the senior 4th XI in their opening league match of the season against Largo 4th XI, Gair batted at no 6 and scored a fine unbeaten 39 as he helped his side hit 200 in their 40 overs.

In the Largo reply, Chayank's bowling brought him a remarkable return of 6 for 20 (and he had 2 catches dropped off his bowling!).

Well done boys and congratulations on being the first players in the Hall of Fame!
